Here's your Shmoop du jour, brought to you by Burmese pythons.
- 00:07
Did you hear the one about the Burmese pythons that went to couples counseling? He said she
- 00:12
was too constricting, and she said he never lets things go.
- 00:16
Here's a passage followed by the viewpoints of 2 scientists.

according to Scientist 1?
- 00:52
And here are the possible answers:
- 00:58
First we should know that we're only considering Scientist 1's opinion. And Scientist 1 looks
- 01:03
to be pretty critical of the USGS about a few different things. We need to identify
- 01:08
which of the four options is NOT something that Scientist 1 ranted about.
- 01:12
Now, let's take a look at the options. Which one of them is "not" mentioned by Scientist 1?
- 01:18
Option A says the survey overestimates the
- 01:21
python population. aaaaaand
- 01:22
Looks like Scientist 1 agrees, so it's not A.
- 01:26
What about B? B says the survey only took into account rainfall and temperature.
- 01:31
Yup, that's in there, too. It's not B. C claims the survey fails to mention the creation
- 01:37
of new marshland being necessary for the pythons. Yeah, Scientist 1 says that, too. In the same
- 01:43
sentence, actually. So that leaves us with D. Scientist 1 did
- 01:47
a lot of railing against the USGS, but never mentioned that the study fails to model the
- 01:52
current habitat of the python by not testing how well the researchers can pick areas habitable
- 01:58
to the snake. So D's is our answer. D, as in Don't talk
- 02:01
to scientist 1 until he's had his coffee.
