Figure Analysis
Jehoiada is also a son of Eliashib, the high priest. Jehoiada's son—an unnamed man—is pals with Tobiah (the Ammonite enemy of Israel). He's married to the daughter of Tobiah's ally Sanballat, and gives Tobiah a room in the temple to stay in. This enrages Nehemiah, who drives away Jehoiada's son (and possibly even Jehoiada and Eliashib) as punishment for defiling the priesthood. It's unclear if Jehoiada himself was caught up in this scandal.
