Figure Analysis
There's not much to say about King Lemuel's mother, since we know virtually nothing about her. She was evidently the mother of, um, King Lemuel, for one thing—and she provides some kind, motherly advice to him in the last chapter of Proverbs. Interestingly enough, she and her son may have been non-Israelite—indicating that there was possibly a more universal and non-sectarian, non-tribal approach to wisdom—and to who could have wisdom—than you might have thought existed in the ancient Near East.
