Thank you Responsibility is an adult Shmoop this is bob

00:08

bob's an adult Tough to tell isn't it Bob was

00:11

a pretty responsible kid back in the day He got

00:14

himself a part time job while he was still in

00:16

school to prepare himself for the working world and teo

00:19

be able to buy his own playstation well He buckled

00:22

down and concentrated on his studies so that he could

00:24

earn good grades and attract the attention of some great

00:27

colleges got into one of those colleges and did the

00:30

same There he was careful about what he ate worked

00:32

out four times a week and always remember to call

00:34

his mommy Good boy bob But after leaving college and

00:39

dipping a toe into the real world bob experienced a

00:41

bit of a shock Turns out grown up responsibility is

00:44

quite a bit different from just checking the boxes making

00:48

sure you get your brit lit essay into mrs willed

00:50

owers hands before eight am Well the first big thing

00:53

that caught bob off guard was paying bills His parents

00:56

had always taken care of that stuff Now all the

00:59

sudden he was expected to pay monthly rent for his

01:01

New apartment a water power gas a phone bill the

01:05

cable bill and well three other bills he was entirely

01:08

sure about but they came each month so he paid

01:11

him Bob also soon realised that a grown up job

01:14

isn't the same thing Is shelving books at the local

01:16

library showing up in exerting the minimum amount of effort

01:19

required wasn't gonna cut it anymore At his big boy

01:22

job he was expected to go above and beyond to

01:24

put in overtime when a huge project was on the

01:26

table toe actually use that thing between his ears and

01:29

offer solutions the problems and maybe most importantly to impress

01:33

upon his boss the idea that he was dedicated not

01:36

just to picking up a paycheck but to helping the

01:38

company exelon succeed so that he could get a raise

01:42

of course and hopefully keep up with all those bills

01:45

And when bob finally met mrs wright and they settled

01:48

down and they popped out a couple of kids well

01:50

okay she popped out a couple of kids grown up

01:53

responsibility hit bob hardcore dating missy senior year and having

01:57

to remember to buy her flowers on her birthday was

02:00

nothing compared to this All his decisions affected a few

02:03

people on earth He cared about most screw up his

02:07

job and it's not just his but that's toast neglect

02:10

to get life insurance forgot to file his taxes well

02:14

any major slip on bob's part and his wife and

02:16

children's lives could take a serious nosedive not to mention

02:20

all the responsibilities inheritance simply having kids It had a

02:24

pet goldfish when he was in high school but well

02:27

that thing died in a month He was hoping to

02:29

do better with his actual live human kids but it

02:32

wasn't easy The diaper changing is the midnight rock ings

02:35

the protecting them from neighborhood dogs thing so maybe sun

02:39

entirely shocking that bob loses it a bit now and

02:41

again being an adult and taking on all the responsibilities

02:44

that entails can wear on a person's sanity So let's

02:47

not judge a guy too harshly if he feels the

02:49

need to sit in front of a bowling television screen

02:52

eating peanut butter right out of the jar with a

02:54

butter knife As long as he files those taxes on

02:57

time we're willing to give him some leeway Hang in 00:03:00.015 --> [endTime] There bob Or behind you
