Character Analysis
Rivers, Hastings, Montgomery, and Montague (in the first half of the play, at least) all support York and then his son, Edward, in their quest for the crown. We don't really learn much about each of them individually, but they help cheer on Edward all the way to the throne. Uncle Shakespeare is pretty diplomatic with his treatment of each side; it's up to us to decide who, if anyone, actually deserves the crown.
