Residential Rental Property

Categories: Real Estate

You're the landlord. You bought a 12-unit MDU, or multiple dwelling unit. You rent the units for $2k a month each and, since you're sold out, you get 24 grand a month in revenues, or about 300 grand a year. You have janitorial and insurance and maintenance costs of about 50 grand a year, leaving you $250,000 to pay interest and principal on the $2 million you borrowed to buy the building 3 years ago. But rates are cheap, and you'll probably pay off everything in the next 5 years, and then just have all that dough coming in to make you whine about taxes.

So, um, we feel sorry for you. Really we do.
