Research Associate
Categories: Careers
It's a title. A category. The pecking order in banking is kinda like, low to high: Analyst, Associate, VP, Director, Managing Director, Group Managing Director, Principal Equity Officer, and then CEO, or whatever. When you're a research associate, the key player whose name is atop a brokerage's research report directs you as to what fundamental research to do. Like..."Call 100 retail stores and ask what games are selling best this week" or something like that in the modern era. You'll write 3 paragraphs, do some math as to how it'd affect the business of that drone company if business is great or awful for this area that represents 10% of their margins...and that's about it.
You make decent money for doing this gig, but you're desperate to have your own name at the top...some day.
