Quarter To Date - QTD

Categories: Accounting

The last quarter ended September 30. Today, it's November 12th. The stock was at $12.00 on 9/30.

What is its quarter to date or QTD performance?

It's now trading at exactly $14. Nice run. So it's up 2 bucks or, on a percentage basis, you get the grand number with the Harry Potter-like magic formula: New minus Old over Old. Which, in this case, is 14 minus 12 over 12...or 2 over 12...or 1/6, or 16.7%. Heckuva run for only 6 weeks-ish. At that pace, the stock will more than double in the year. Good work if you can get it.
