Financial Planner

A financial planner is someone who advises individuals about their overall financial situation. They help with stuff like estate planning, tax plans, investments, and more.
Since money stuff can be confusing (duh), these guys and gals basically help you make money decisions that hopefully don't suck.
Planners can work in a few different ways: they might charge you an hourly or monthly fee to just give you general advice or manage your holdings; or they might recommend (and manage) specific stocks, bonds, or mutual funds (oh my!) and get paid a percentage of the assets they manage for you.
