Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

If you keep your money in a sock drawer and want to switch it to your sweater drawer (fishing dollar bills out of your socks is the worst), you have to physically move the money.

If you stash your money in a bank and want to move your money from one account to another, you can do so virtually by using electronic funds transfer, which shifts your cash from one account to another without you having to physically move it.

Not that we don't love the smell of socky dollar bills...
