Death Master File (DMF)
Categories: Tech, Regulations, Tax
In order to track official notices for coordination with the IRS and other agencies, the Social Security Administration maintains a Death Master File (DMF) of all deceased persons who possessed a Social Security number. The DMF is a sub file from NUMIDENT, which is the master database of the Social Security Administration. Clearly, the state of Florida did not bother comparing their voter rolls with the DMF or they might have noticed a 53,000 overcount this past election day.
And in Chicago, many of the people from this DMF still vote.
