Cookie Jar Accounting
Categories: Accounting
You know...accounting for five-year-olds.
Actually, it's probably better named something like "rainy day accounting." Or maybe "under-the-mattress accounting."
The basic idea is that a company will take profits from a good run and put it away to cover losses when things aren't as sunny.
Like...if you win a bundle at the track and put it away in a cookie jar until a time when your luck changes.
