Capital Goods Price Index - CGPI
Categories: International, Trading, Forex
The capital goods price index is specific to New Zealand. It measures changes in the price of six types of assets nationally (residential buildings, non-residential buildings, transportation equipment, land improvement, plant machinery and infrastructure projects). New Zealand also tracks income changes, and changes to consumer goods and prices.
In 2015, the capital goods price index was added to other categories to become the Business Price Index. There really isn't a directly matching measurement in the U.S., although the U.S. measures these things in various ways. The goal is to measure inflation, and to gauge how well the citizens are doing (compare their wage to cost of things they'll need).
