American Bankers Association - ABA

Categories: Banking, Education

The ABA would be a lot more interesting if we were talking to you about basketball. Instead, it represents the American Bankers Association, founded in 1875, and basically exists to represent the interests of banks in America.

Deregulate us! Our mortgage practices are just fine! Hey, how's about everybody use a standardized routing number system, so we can all talk to each other, hm? Hey, Fed, don't make us keep much in reserve...everything's gonna be just fine. Don't put guidelines around how we allocate risk when we give loans to customers! That's our business. We know what we're doing, thank you very much.
